Romantic Dinner for
2
Hearts Desire Entrée by Dot Humphreys
Serves 2
1 lemon
6 raw prawns
1 flat bun cut into a heart shape
Plum sauce, chives and cucumber to decorate
2 tablespoons SR flour
Garlic steak sprinkle
Virgin olive oil to pan fry
Juice ½ the lemon (keep the 2nd ½ for
decoration)
Mix garlic steak sprinkle into the S R Flour
Dip prawns in lemon juice and roll in the flour
mix
Pan fry in a shallow pan till golden brown, turning
constantly
Cut bun in the shape of a heart then slice in ½ and
lightly toast, pile prawns in top and decorate with cucumber, wedge
of lemon, chives and a drizzle of plum sauce
Citrus Filet
Steak
Citrus Filet Steak Platter for 2 by Dot Humphreys

Serves 2
2 x approx 200 grams of filet steak
1 orange
1 lime
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon sugar
3 potatoes (mashed)
1 desert spoon butter
1 tablespoon Cream
1 cup full of rocket salad
½ cup sweet bite tomato on the vine
1 large carrot
1 desertspoon honey ( for the carrots)
1 bunch Asian broccoli
8 snow peas
Steak
Peel the rind off the orange and leave in 1 piece for
decoration
Juice of 1/2 orange and juice of 1 lime, combine and dip
steak, cook on a hot grill or BBQ to desired taste.
Mashed potato
Peel potatoes, boil till soft add butter and cream and
mash till fluffy
Carrots and Broccoli
Steam for approx 8 mins or 4 mins in the
microwave
Drizzle honey over the carrots
Snowpea’s
Blanch for 2 mins in boiling water
Orange
Cube ½ an orange sprinkle with cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of
sugar, sear in a hot shallow pan with ½ teaspoon of
butter
Decorate platter
Mashed potato in the centre, with steak either side,
sweet bite tomatoes on a bed of rocket, carrots and broccoli on
either side of the mash.
Top the steak with oranges, snow peas on the mash and
decorate the side with the orange peel.
Lemon delicious
Pudding
Lemon Delicious Pudding by Dot Humphreys
Serves 4 ( Save 2 serves for later!)
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon of butter
½ cup of sugar
3 eggs
½ cup SR flour
½ cup milk
Cream together butter and sugar, add milk stirring to a
nice batter, slowly add SR flour and yolks of 3 eggs.
Whip egg white still they are stiff, add to the batter
folding in slowly, lastly add the lemon juice (save 1 tsp for
topping)
Pour into an oven proof dish (or ramekins) stand in a dish
of boiling water no more than 2 cm deep, cook in a moderate to hot
oven till golden brown on the top (approx 30 minutes)
Serve with vanilla ice-cream or thickened cream and
top with tsp of lemon juice
